Care Assistant

Parkhill Care Home is recruiting a Care Assistant to join our residential care home team in Millbrook, Stalybridge. AJ Care Group Ltd provides residential care and personal care for adults aged 65+, including people living with dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities and personal care needs.

About the role

We welcome applications from both experienced carers and people who are new to care but have the right values, communication skills and willingness to learn. The role focuses on kind, safe and person-centred support for residents.

Main responsibilities

Support residents with personal care in a dignified and respectful way

Assist with mobility, continence, dressing, meals, hydration and general comfort

Encourage independence, choice, participation and social interaction wherever possible

Observe and report changes in residents’ wellbeing, mood, appetite or mobility

Keep simple care records and communicate effectively at handover

What we are looking for

Caring, respectful and reliable approach, with a genuine commitment to dignity and kindness

Able to follow instructions, work as part of a team and keep basic records

Basic awareness of dignity, confidentiality and safe working, or willingness to learn quickly through induction

Previous care, support, volunteering or customer-facing experience is welcome but not essential
