Toyota Manufacturing UK, Burnaston, Derbyshire

At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day. We're looking for an experienced Plumbing & Drainage Engineer to join our team at Toyota Manufacturing UK's Burnaston site.

This isn't a domestic plumbing role and it isn't a role where you'll spend your days fitting bathrooms in empty properties. You'll be working within a busy manufacturing environment where your skills directly contribute to keeping facilities operational for thousands of people every day.

Whether it's resolving a drainage issue before it impacts operations, repairing a leaking water system, improving welfare facilities, or supporting planned maintenance activities during shutdown periods, your work will help keep a major automotive manufacturing facility running smoothly.

Role Responsibilities

-Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.

-Respond to plumbing and drainage-related breakdowns and defects.

-Diagnose and repair faults on hot and cold-water systems.

-Maintain and repair sanitary ware, taps, valves and associated plumbing equipment.

-Investigate and resolve drainage blockages and system failures.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

-NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).

-Experience working within Facilities Management, Building Services, Industrial Maintenance or Manufacturing.

-Strong plumbing fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

-Experience maintaining commercial hot and cold-water systems.

-Experience maintaining drainage systems and associated infrastructure.

What's in it for you?

-£30,000 - £31,800 basic salary (dependent on experience) plus 20% shift allowance (equivalent to approximately £36,000 - £38,160 annual earnings before overtime).

-23.5 shifts annual leave (inclusive of Bank Holidays), pension scheme and Mi Deals employee benefits platform.

-Ongoing training and development, overtime opportunities and career progression opportunities.

A Typical Shift Could Include

-Investigating a drainage blockage within a welfare facility.

-Repairing a leaking pipework system.

-Replacing a faulty flush valve or tap.

-Carrying out maintenance on under-sink pumping equipment.

-Inspecting drainage infrastructure.

-Completing a plumbing modification to support an improvement project.

-Supporting maintenance activities during a planned production shutdown.

-Updating work orders and recording completed tasks within Maximo.

-Working alongside engineers from other disciplines to deliver site improvements.

Desirable Skills & Experience

-Manufacturing or automotive industry experience.

-Experience using Maximo or similar CAFM systems.

-Knowledge of calorifiers, expansion vessels, control valves, point-of-use water heaters, under-sink pumps and wastewater systems.

-IPAF qualification.

-PASMA qualification.

-Confined Space Awareness.

-Previous experience working on a shift-based maintenance team.
