Environmental Health Investigator

What's involved with this role

Triumph Consultants are looking for a experienced Environmental Health Investigator to join their client's Public Protection Environmental Health Team. You will carry out private water system risk assessments, water sampling, investigations and site visits, as well as support health and safety and infectious disease work. Contract is for 7 months in Bristol, BS1 5TR.

Key requirements

Registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHRB) and able to meet the required professional qualifications and experience.

Experience working in an Environmental Health Service, with knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and good practice.

Experience in at least one Environmental Health area, such as water safety, health and safety, housing, pollution control, infectious disease or food safety.

Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines and deal confidently with difficult situations.

Able to travel across Bristol for site visits and have access to suitable transport, where required.

Key responsibilities

Carry out inspections, risk assessments, investigations and water sampling, accurately recording findings and evidence.

Assess information and environmental health risks, identifying appropriate actions in line with legislation and guidance.

Prepare clear reports and recommendations and attend relevant meetings with internal and external partners.

Take appropriate enforcement action, including preparing evidence, serving notices and supporting legal proceedings where required.
