Senior Clinical Fellow – Endocrinology/Diabetes in Gen Paeds

Daily review of Endocrine In-patient,Attendance and participation at Out-patient diabetes and Endocrine clinics Receive and discuss Endocrine referrals from In-patients admitted under General Paediatrics and sub-specialty teams and DG external Hospitals in the region Supervise and collate results on in-patient dynamic function tests (Day Ward) Present cases at monthly pituitary MDT and weekly Endocrine Team meetings Participate in the General Paediatric on-call rota Assistance in conjunction with Consultants and more junior trainees with the teaching of undergraduates and Nurses as appropriate Objective Recognition and management of common Endocrine conditions Development of confidence in the In-patient and Out-patient management of Endocrine disorders and Type 1 diabetes Development of confidence in the management of obesity Risk and governance Quality improvement Development of communication skills with children and young people and their families Effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty. Sustaining and developing teaching and research in conjunction with Kings College London / KHP. Undertaking all work in accordance with the Trusts procedures and operating policies. Conducting clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trusts service plans. Maintaining the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty, the Care Group or the Trust.
