About The Role
Days of Working
This position will be based at Jackton Police College, working Providing 24 hour cover on a shift rota basis
Covering days nights weekend and public holidays.
Becoming a Security Officer at OCS offers a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across a busy client site. In this role, you will play a vital part in protecting people, property, and assets, while delivering a professional and approachable service to all employees and visitors.
You will be part of a team that takes pride in high standards, strong customer service, and proactive security management, ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently at all times.
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
- Controlling access and egress to the site, ensuring only authorised personnel and visitors are permitted entry.
- Conducting security patrols of buildings, grounds, and car parks to identify and report security risks, hazards, or suspicious activity.
- Monitoring CCTV, alarm systems, and other security equipment to detect and respond to incidents promptly.
- Maintaining accurate records of visitors, contractors, incidents, and daily security activities.
- Responding to emergencies, including fire alarms, security breaches, and incidents requiring immediate action.
- Providing a visible security presence and assisting with site security requirements.
- Ensuring keys, access cards, and other security assets are controlled and accounted for in accordance with site procedures.
- Challenging unauthorised persons and reporting any suspicious behaviour in line with security protocols.
- Liaising with police officers, staff, contractors, and emergency services when required.
- Adhering to all company policies, site instructions, and legal requirements, including data protection and confidentiality obligations.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass BS7858 vetting.
- Valid SIA Licence
- Previous experience in a security role
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Desirable
- Experience working in a busy or public-facing environment
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to duties
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
