About Canary Wharf Centre The Canary Wharf Centre at 50 Bank Street is a purpose-built Specialist Diagnostics & Dental Centre opening in 2026. It will feature state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities, including MRI and CT scanning, X-ray and mammography, enabling high-quality care in a modern environment designed to support clinical excellence. The centre will provide a wide range of services, including secondary care for orthopaedics, pain and spinal, dental and maxillofacial, breast and gynaecology, dermatology, and ear, nose and throat, with the ability to perform procedures onsite. It will also offer cardiology, urology, ophthalmology and neurology, alongside primary care services such as health assessments, private GP appointments, women's health plans, physiotherapy and dental care. This development is part of our ambition to grow our business and transform the healthcare markets we operate in, offering customers greater choice and better access to services. Most patients will benefit from end-to-end care under one roof, with onward referrals within the Bupa network when needed. By delivering more connected care, we aim to make healthcare simpler and more joined up for our customers. Role Overview As a Security Officer you will be responsible for protecting people, assets, and information by controlling access, conducting patrols, monitoring surveillance equipment (CCTV), responding to incidents/emergencies (medical, fire, security), and providing high-level of customer service for visitors and staff, all while maintaining a professional presence and adhering to strict protocols, policies, and health & safety standards in a clinical environment. Key duties involve access control, patrols, emergency response, incident reporting, and operating security systems.Responsibilities and activitiesAccess control - Managing entry and exit points, issue and management of ID access control cards and issuing temporary passes for visitors/contractors.Patrols and monitoring - Conduct regular patrols of the premises, monitoring CCTV, alarms and other electronic security systems.Reporting and documentation - Complete accurate and timely incident reports, daily security logs, access breach notes, and any other required documentation to maintain compliance.Risk Management - Identify unusual behaviour, suspicious activity, or safety risks, taking appropriate action in line with security protocols and clinicalenvironment safeguarding policies.Customer service - Provide a warm, professional, and reassuring first point of contact for patients, visitors. Offer navigation support, escort assistance, and general guidance to ensure a seamless and positive experience. Demonstrate empathy, discretion, and courtesy in every interaction, reflecting the centre's highend service standards.Health and Safety - Carry out regular inspections of emergency as well as other equipment, response to alerts and ensuring adherence to policies.Mandatory training - Complete all mandatory training assigned.General - Assist with nonclinical tasks such as patient escorting during emergencies, movement of medical gases, and adhoc portering duties when required. Collaborate closely with reception, facilities, and clinical teams to ensure the smooth operation of the centre.Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, excellent timekeeping, and a proactive approach to assigned tasks as well as a polite, articulate, and respectful communication with patients, visitors, and staff at all times. Qualifications needed for this role

Minimum 2 years' experience in a security role - ideally hospital or hospitality securityMust have an SIA LicenceCustomer service skillsExperience in CCTV operation is desirableExcellent communication skills both written and verbal.IT Literate - knowledge of Microsoft office and outlook Benefits Our benefits are designed to make health happen for our people.
