In this role, you'll develop experience supporting pupils with needs that may include

Autism (ASC) • ADHD • SEMH • Speech & Language Needs • Sensory Needs • Learning Difficulties

You'll learn more about how these needs can affect learning, communication, behaviour and emotional regulation - and, importantly, how effective support can help.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include

• Supporting pupils individually and in small groups.
• Helping children access lessons and learning activities.
• Delivering targeted interventions.
• Supporting pupils working towards EHCP outcomes.
• Adapting resources and activities around individual needs.
• Helping pupils develop communication and social skills.
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Encouraging confidence and greater independence.
• Observing pupil progress and sharing useful feedback.
• Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and other professionals.
• Learning and applying different SEND strategies.
• Building your confidence in providing increasingly specialist support.

Teaching Assistant • SEN Teaching Assistant • Learning Support Assistant • 1:1 TA • Behaviour Mentor • Pastoral Support Assistant

We're looking for someone who already has experience working with children or young people and wants to strengthen their SEND knowledge.

You'll need to be patient, adaptable and willing to learn. You'll also need the confidence to ask questions, contribute observations and gradually take greater ownership of the support you provide.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, will be required.
