A Rewarding Role Supporting a Wonderful Young Girl and Her Family

Meet Davina

Davina is a nine-year-old girl who has complex medical needs, including visual impairment and epilepsy. She requires a high level of support to ensure her safety, comfort and wellbeing throughout the day.

Davina spends much of her time resting and sleeping due to her health needs. On her brighter days, she enjoys sensory activities, listening to stories, painting and spending time with those around her. Her family are looking for a caring and dependable Personal Assistant who can provide high-quality support and become a trusted part of her support team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide one-to-one support to Davina within her family home.

The primary focus of the role is supporting Davina's complex medical and personal care needs, ensuring she remains safe, comfortable and well supported at all times.

Davina requires support with all aspects of daily living and personal care, including

• Washing and personal care

• Dressing and changing

• Feeding and mealtime support

• Monitoring and supporting her during seizures

• Following established care routines

• Providing reassurance and comfort throughout the day

When Davina is feeling well, you may also support her to engage in activities she enjoys, such as listening to stories, painting and sensory play.

Available Shifts

Day Shift

7 hours per week

• 1

Waking Night Shift

9 hours per week

These positions are initially offered on a casual basis by mutual agreement, with the potential to move to a permanent contract.

Rate of pay and location

Day Shift

£14.50 per hour

Waking Night Shift

£24.00 per hour

• Based in G43, Glasgow

About You

You will be

• Caring, patient and dependable

• Experienced in supporting children with additional needs

• Experience of epilepsy would be highly desirable, although relevant training and support will be provided to the right candidate.

• Enthusiastic about play, communication and sensory activities

• Able to build a positive and meaningful relationship with Davina and her family
