About the Role
As a Care Assistant, you'll support vulnerable individuals in their own homes, helping them to live safely, independently, and with dignity. You'll assist with a range of tasks, from personal care to emotional support and everyday activities.
Sugarman Health and Wellbeing is seeking a dedicated female Care Assistant to provide clinical and personal care support for a 3.5-year-old girl. She has diagnosed Down syndrome, Williams syndrome, and end-stage renal disease, requiring attentive supervision and dedicated care. We are looking for an engaging, outgoing, and nurturing individual who can offer exceptional companionship. She is a bright, sociable young girl who thrives on music, interactive storytelling, and sensory/messy play, and requires dynamic emotional reassurance when distressed.
Flexibility regarding shift availability is essential, as occasional Friday night shifts will be required alongside standard rota hours.

Your responsibilities will include
- Personal care routine (washing, dressing, continuous hygiene, and toileting support)
- Manual handling and moving techniques, ensuring safe, confident, and secure physical handling of the child · Meal preparation, feeding assistance, and specialized fluid or diet management as required
- Monitoring and recording vital health metrics and clinical signs (following appropriate training)
- Companionship and emotional developmental support (engaging in music, singing, interactive stories, and comforting reassurance) · Facilitating structured sensory and creative play activities
- Supervise and manage care needs related to end-stage renal disease and complex pediatric conditions
- Medication administration and support (where clinical competence is verified)
- Maintenance of a clean, safe care environment (light household tasks and sanitation) · Accurate care plan documentation and prompt escalation of clinical changes or concerns
Who We're Looking For
- Mandatory experience in paediatric care support and complex health needs.
- Ideally but not essential -
based in or near the local Ilford area to ensure ease of commute for varied shift patterns.
- Ideal but not essential -
Candidate - comfortable working in a traditional household environment and respectful of specific cultural routines, dietary requirements, and family preferences.
- Confident proficiency and extensive practical application in manual handling techniques
- A minimum of 6 months of professional UK Care experience.
- High degree of flexibility and availability, particularly for Friday night cover as required.
- Full, unrestricted Right to Work in the
UK (Please note

- Ability to provide full compliance documentation, including updated Right to Work proof and an original DBS certificate
- An outgoing, empathetic, and professional demeanor.
