We are looking for a caring, supportive and dedicated Learning Mentor to join a welcoming college on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, helping them overcome barriers to learning and developing their confidence and independence.

As a Learning Mentor, you will provide targeted support to pupils who may need additional encouragement, guidance or support with their learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement.

Key responsibilities include

• Providing one-to-one and small-group mentoring support
• Supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Encouraging confidence, resilience and independence
• Supporting pupils with emotional and social development
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
• Helping pupils develop strategies to manage challenges
• Working closely with teachers and the wider school team
• Supporting pupils to achieve their educational and personal goals

We are looking for someone who is

• Patient, approachable and empathetic
• Passionate about supporting young people
• A positive role model with excellent communication skills
• Confident building relationships with pupils
• Calm and consistent in their approach
• Reliable, enthusiastic and committed
• Experienced in education, mentoring, youth work or SEN is desirable but not essential
• £13-£15 per hour
• 1 day per week
