Student Services Supervisor

What skills and experience we're looking for

• High level of Literacy and Numeracy skills, equivalent to Level 3
• Motivated to work with children and young people to ensure they are successful
• Commitment to, and belief in, the equal value of all students
• Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people
• Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline
• Experience of working with children in an educational setting
• An awareness of child protection issues
• Proven experience of working in administration
• Prior relevant experience of working in a school
• Experience of using a School’s Information Management System
• First Aid trained (or a willingness to undertake training)
• Strong ICT skills, especially in the use of Word and Excel
• Appropriate level of data protection, security, and confidentiality awareness
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability to problem solve and an awareness and ability to identify issues that children may experience and how they can be resolved
• Accurate, consistent and have an attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to keep calm and maintain an air of authority

We are looking to appoint a highly effective and efficient person to lead on providing a frontline support to our students in a range of areas, including overseeing our First Aid procedures.

We are seeking a candidate who has a genuine desire to support children and young people, strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour.

The successful applicant will find a purposeful and supportive learning environment, with a team of staff committed to raising student achievement and well-being.

This is a permanent post. The hours of duty are 7.45 am to 3.45 pm on Monday to Thursday, and 7.45 am to 3.15 pm on Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid break each day, term time plus training days.
