The Opportunity

We are partnering with an established Further Education college to recruit a passionate Student Achievement Tutor to join their pastoral team. This term-time role offers an exciting opportunity to directly shape young people's educational journeys, supporting student achievement, progression, and personal development.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Deliver weekly group tutorials covering pastoral themes, safeguarding, social action, study skills, and career preparation.

Manage an average caseload of 15 tutorial groups (approximately 300 students).

Conduct individual 1-to-1 mentoring sessions to set SMART targets and track progress throughout the academic year.

Lead attendance and behaviour interventions in collaboration with curriculum teams, parents/carers, and external agencies.

Monitor vulnerable student cohorts, signposting individuals to internal wellbeing or safeguarding teams when necessary.

Guide students through UCAS applications, personal statements, work experience tracking, and Gatsby benchmark initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications & Knowledge

Minimum Level 2 in literacy and numeracy (essential). A relevant degree (e.g., Youth Work) or prior experience within Further Education is highly desirable.

Characteristics & Skills

Proven experience delivering group sessions and 1-to-1 support to young people. Strong communication skills, empathy, discretion, and a calm approach under pressure.

Transport & Flexibility

A manageable commute to the site, along with a flexible approach to working hours during key college calendar events such as Open Days and enrolment.
