We have a great opportunity for a Technician to joint the team on a full-time basis. As a Technician, you will provide in-depth technical support and knowledge to research groups within the Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre (POG-LRC), part of the School of Cancer Sciences (SCS). Providing specialist technical expertise in but not limited to tissue culture techniques, primary cell isolation and cell banking and Health & Safety. In addition, undertake a range of technical support activities and general facility services, including the oversight of the normal and leukaemia cell bank facility within the POG-LRC.

As part of the SCS core technical staff undertake duties to ensure facilities, communal equipment and services are maintained and provide Health & Safety advice to staff and students. To provide general safety inductions and more specific tissue culture training, and form part of the team for laboratory safety training and inspections.

Responsible for the creation/set up and/or operation of technical resources to aid the delivery of research objectives.In addition, the postholder will undertake a range of technical support activities in line with the College and School Strategy.
