Contract : Casual hoursSalary : £12.71 pr hour/ £26,437 per annum full time equivalentLocation : GuildfordJob Purpose To work closely with students that require additional support in the classroom by adapting and delivering learning to make it accessible. To work under the direction of the SEN Lead to provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for students. By promoting physical, social, emotional and intellectual development you will enable students to achieve their potential.

Key Tasks

To deliver 1

1 academic and emotional support in class To liaise with tutors and other staff regarding the needs and progress of students receiving supportMaintain student records/reports as required To work as part of a multidisciplinary team with all staff in school and external agencies who contribute to the students care and educational needs To promote the welfare of children and young people at all times and ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followedTo attend relevant training and continuous professional development as required To ensure that individual student needs are identified and responded toTo establish and maintain positive, firm, professional and consistent boundaries that support the student to reach their full potential. Desirable

Experience in working with and supporting children or young people in an educational environment Qualifications in – First Aid, Child Protection, Safeguarding, Behaviour Management, Autism, Special Educational Needs Knowledge of young people's therapeutic, development, health and educational needs. Experience of working with students with specific learning difficulties such as Autism/ ADHD/Dyslexia.Experience of music or games in education – knowledge of music, music theory and musical software or games development This job purpose reflects the core activities of the post.
