Duties of a Vehicle Technician

  • Conduct servicing, repairs, inspections, and diagnostic work to high standards
  • Accurately identify faults and complete repairs efficiently
  • Deliver excellent customer service and ensure workshop productivity targets are met
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through manufacturer training
  • Follow all manufacturer and company quality standards and procedures
  • Complete vehicle health checks thoroughly and accurately
  • Keep the work environment clean, safe and professional
  • Collaborate effectively within the workshop and aftersales teams

Requirements of a Vehicle Technician

  • Relevant Level 3 qualification, such as City & Guilds or NVQ
  • Proven experience in vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections
  • Full UK driving license
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • MOT Tester qualification would be highly advantageous
  • Prior experience within a franchised dealership is preferred but not essential
  • A professional attitude, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
