Property Specialist - Location Planning & Market Analysis

We have a great opportunity for a Location Planner (known internally as Property Specialist, Location Planning & Market Analysis) within our Property department. Through careful data analysis, the Specialist will undertake sales forecasting for new franchise stores, and inform the location analysis for Morrisons and the Franchisee. Evaluating sales impacts on the wider estate will be key. The role will also involve taking a lead in Sign Off meetings, discussing the potential new store opening, and presenting in front of senior members of the team. Day to day, involvement in potential ad hoc projects, such as requests for data analysis and demographics will also be part of the role. The successful candidate will actively manage key stakeholders both within Location Planning and in the wider business. As part of a team, take ownership of competition monitoring.

This role is a Head Office, permanent full time position.

Due to the nature of the role, some travel may be required, therefore it is essential to have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

The successful candidate will be required to be in the office a minimum of three days a week.

You'll be responsible for things like this in the role

• Inform the location strategy and target list to ensure new opportunities are appropriate to local customers, and ensure the strategy is a live document
• Work closely with New Business Managers to fulfil strategy requirements in a way that best meets our store customer needs
• Develop strong relationships with Location Planning team members with particular focus on supporting Competitor Analyst
• Provide the tactical thinking and analysis to deliver competitor and property/market insight
• Use forecasting knowledge to work with the Senior Location Planning Manager to ensure all forecasting systems, data and models are appropriate and fit for purpose
• Work as an integral part of any confidential project teams working on major ad hoc projects

About you

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has

• Degree in Geography or related subject essential.
• Proven experience of working in a specialist team of spatial analysts and GIS analytical software desirable, but not essential, we’re open to developing an individual who is in the early stages of their career
• An understanding or interest in the latest available forecasting techniques
• Knowledge of UK food competitor strategies, property and grocery food market dynamics
• A high degree of analytical ability, with strong attention to detail
