Loss Prevention Specialist - Retail & Convenience

About this role

As a Loss Prevention Specialist - Process Improvement (Retail & Convenience), you are responsible for the delivery of agreed business loss KPIs by supporting our retail supermarket and convenience stores. You will drive a deep understanding and compliance of the processes that impact loss, ensuring store teams are educated on existing routines and new initiatives to maximize loss reduction. By maintaining a strong field presence, you will improve store-level engagement by coaching, training, and supporting teams to manage loss effectively.

This role is accountable for the successful delivery of loss management routines and centrally agreed improvement projects across your assigned regions. You will collaborate cross-functionally with the wider Loss Prevention team, Retail Regional Managers, and Convenience Area Managers to ensure the loss reduction agenda is consistently supported and driven forward.

This role is a Hilmore based position.

Some of your responsibilities will include

  • Coaching and supporting store teams in loss management routines to ensure they are completed to the required standard.
  • Leading and landing centrally agreed loss initiatives and improvement projects successfully within your region.
  • Using business data and key performance indicators to identify emerging loss risks and prioritize your activity for maximum impact.
  • Building strong relations with key stakeholders, including Regional and Store Managers, to ensure consistent support for loss reduction.
  • Representing the Loss Prevention team at regional forums to continuously drive the loss agenda and share best practices.
  • Feeding back insight to the wider Loss Prevention team and business functions where further support is required to reduce loss.
  • Acting as a business champion for loss reduction, listening to and responding to colleague insights regarding loss.
  • Managing performance against agreed business loss targets and Shrink Process Review ratings.

About you

For this role, we're looking for someone who has

  • Significant experience in loss management and delivering results against specific business targets.
  • Strong knowledge of store operations, product flow, and security systems (physical and technical).
  • Expertise in process reviews and stocktake procedures within a retail or convenience environment.
  • Proven influencing and coaching skills, with the ability to drive engagement across entire store teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to perform root cause analysis and translate business data into actionable reports and plans.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills to manage a field-based remit effectively.
  • Computer literacy, specifically in the use of technology systems (Google).
