As a result of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Photographer to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and commercially minded photography professional to lead out in-house studio operations and play a key role in shaping the identity of The Range across eCommerce, marketing, social media and advertising channels.
About the Role
As Lead Photographer, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of our retail photography studio, leading a team of photographers while maintaining the highest standard of visual contract production.
You will work closely with the Buying, Marketing, eCommerce, social media, Design and Product teams to plan, create and deliver engaging imagery that showcases our extensive product range in a consistent, commercially effective and brand-aligned manner.
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both creative and operational oversight, balancing strategic planning with active involvement in studio shoots, workflow management and team development.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute shoots, including lighting design, set construction, styling requirements and equipment selection.
- Ensure all photography aligns with The Range brand guidelines, campaign objectives and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Buying and Creative teams to develop concepts and imagery for seasonal campaigns product launches and promotional activities.
- Monitor team workload and project priorities to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure studio equipment, lighting systems, cameras and production resources are maintained, organised and operation effectively.
- Build strong working relationships across departments and stake holders.
Person Specification
- Experience within a commercial retail photography environment
- Provide experience leading or managing a photography studio and creative team
- Strong understanding of retail eCommerce, and marketing photography requirements
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects withing a fast-paced commercial environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comprehensive understanding of industry best practice and emerging visual content trends.
