School Caretaker

We are looking for a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a school site in Necton, PE37.

This is a temporary to permanent position, offering a great opportunity for long-term employment within a school environment.

£14.00 per hour

Working Hours

Monday to Friday

Split shift

7:00am – 9:30am

2:30pm – 6:00pm

5 days per week

Role Overview

As a School Caretaker, you will play an important role in ensuring the school site is safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained throughout the day. You will support the smooth running of the school by carrying out general caretaking duties and responding to site needs as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Open and close the school site as required
• Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs around the site
• Ensure the school grounds and buildings are safe, clean, and presentable
• Conduct regular checks of the site to identify any issues or hazards
• Support with setting up rooms or spaces when required
• Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed
• Report any maintenance issues promptly
• Assist with general site duties to support the school day

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous caretaking, facilities, or maintenance experience preferred
• Practical and hands-on approach to work
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible attitude
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks across split shifts
• Good awareness of health & safety practices
• Basic DIY or maintenance skills advantageous

Additional Requirements

• Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to undergo one)
• Right to work in the UK essential
