We are seeking ahighly motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Anaesthetic Practitionerwith a recognisedpost-graduate Anaesthetic Nursing qualification or ODP qualificationto become part of our busy and diverse theatre department. Our department consists of18 modern operating theatresacrossQueen’s Hospital and King George Hospital, covering a wide variety of specialties includingNeurosurgery, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, ENT, Trauma, Gynaecology, Maxillofacial, Pain Management and Obstetrics. This varied caseload providesexcellent opportunities to broaden your experience and enhance your professional development.

The role involves participation in afull rota including day shifts, night shifts and on-call dutiesas part of our 24/7 service provision. We are looking for individuals who areadaptable, organised and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, withexcellent communication and interpersonal skills.

To contribute to the effective day-to-day running of the Operating Theatres by providing skilled support to the multidisciplinary team during the administration, maintenance and recovery of general, regional and local anaesthesia, as well as during surgical procedures, through undertaking Scrub, Circulating and Recovery responsibilities.

We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 346,000 people visiting them last year. We’re campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen’s and get rid of corridor care.

We’re proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre and Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. We’re also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance.

We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
