HGV Class 2 Driver – Colchester
Pilgrim Foodservice is an independent, family-run foodservice wholesaler supplying fresh, chilled, frozen, grocery and non-food products to hospitality customers across the UK. We serve customers across 17 counties and pride ourselves on reliability, quality and long-term relationships.
We are currently looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver (Category C) to join our Transport team in Colchester, delivering foodservice products to our customers across Essex and surrounding areas.
This is a multi-drop delivery driver role, where you will be the face of the business, ensuring customers receive their deliveries safely, accurately and on time.
About the Role
As a HGV Class 2 multi-drop driver, you will be responsible for delivering foodservice products to a wide range of hospitality customers including restaurants, pubs, schools and care homes.
This role is hands-on, involving manual handling and customer interactions throughout the day.
Typical responsibilities include
- Driving a Class 2 rigid vehicle on scheduled delivery routes
- Completing multi-drop deliveries to hospitality customers
- Safely unloading goods using appropriate equipment
- Ensuring orders are delivered accurately and on time
- Providing friendly, professional service as the face of Pilgrim Foodservice
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and driver compliance requirements
To be successful in this role you will need
- A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Ideally 2+ years experience as HGV Driver
- A strong work ethic and good attention to detail
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- The physical capability required for manual handling and foodservice deliveries
- Applicants must also meet the company’s insurance requirements, and a driving licence check will be completed prior to interview.
