About this role

This post is for three full time Consultant Anaesthetists to work on the Barnet,

Chase Farm sites. This post covers theatres with a mixture of fixed and flexible

sessions.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide anaesthetic cover in

various areas. Areas include emergency, trauma and labour ward cover as well

as cover for elective theatre lists. The current specialties include Obstetrics &

Gynaecology, Urology, General Surgery, Maxillo-Facial, ENT and

Orthopaedics.

The job will come with a 1:16 on call commitment. The post holder will be based

at Barnet Hospital and will provide overnight cover for obstetric and general

emergencies.

Weekend elective lists may be required in the future. An option for an 11th PA

may be offered during job planning depending on service requirements,

however, this is not required to undertake. A job planning review will take place

within the first three months.

An opportunity has arisen due to retirement and expansion of services for three Consultant Anaesthetists to join the team at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. The role involves delivering adult and paediatric general anaesthesia at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals

The successful candidate will have a CCT in Anaesthesia

The on call commitment is one in 16 weekdays, and one in 16 weekends covering out of hours emergencies

Barnet Hospital is an acute hospital with all emergency services including ENT, Gen surgery, trauma , orthopaedics, Max Fax , paediatrics , obstetrics, gynae and urology. There are seven operating theatres , interventional cardiology suite and two intensive care units. Chase Farm is an elective hub with eight operating theatres covering all elective specialties.
