At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for General Assistant to work with a leading company in the food manufacturing sector in Braintree.

• 06:00 - 15:00 | Mon - Fri | Fixed

Pay rates

• £14.42 hourly

Essential requirements for General Assistant

• During the application process, you must provide a full 5-year work, education and address history with no gaps. If you lived outside the UK for over 6 months, an overseas criminal record check will be required. A Basic DBS check is mandatory for airside clearance (we will support you in obtaining this if needed), and you must have no unspent convictions that prevent clearance. You must hold long-term UK work rights (British passport, ILR or Settled Status). An HMRC employment letter is required, and you must live within 40 minutes of site for 6am shifts and be flexible with shifts and days.

Desirable requirements for General Assistant

• Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or general assistant role preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily targets
• Good physical fitness and ability to carry out manual handling tasks
• Strong teamwork skills with a positive and flexible attitude
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock and orders
• Ability to follow instructions and health & safety procedures at all times
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking approach to work
• Basic communication and numeracy skills
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively
• We're looking for a strong team player who is adaptable and flexible in a physically demanding, on-your-feet environment. You should be reliable, punctual, respectful and detail-oriented, with clear communication skills. A positive, energetic, can-do attitude and the drive to work in a fast-paced setting are essential.

Your role for General Assistant

• Assist in the preparation and assembly of food products following strict recipes and guidelines
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the production area
• Handle and store stock accurately while ensuring quality control measures are met
• Support the wider production team to ensure daily output targets are achieved
• Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
