Class 1 Driver Opportunity
Join Gi Group as a Class 1 Driver supporting one of the UK's biggest supermarkets, Asda as a Class 1 Driver. This isn't just seasonal help; we are looking for professional drivers for a long-term partnership in Asda, Bedford. You will play a vital role in keeping the nation fed by delivering to stores and petrol stations across the region.
Class 1 Driver Compensation & Benefits
We offer a transparent and competitive PAYE pay structure with clear progression
Days (06:00-14:00)
Week 1 - £19.05 per hour & overtime at £26.81 per hour (adv holiday pay PAYE)
Week 12 - £19.47 per hour & overtime at £27.40 per hour (adv holiday pay PAYE)
Week 27+ - £20.57 per hour & overtime at £28.50 per hour (adv holiday pay PAYE)
Afternoons (14:00-22:00)
Week 1 - £20.45 per hour & overtime at £28.21 per hour (adv holiday pay PAYE)
Week 12 - £22.10 per hour & overtime at £30.03 per hour (adv holiday pay PAYE)
Week 27+ - £23.25 per hour & overtime at £31.18 per hour (adv holiday pay PAYE)
Nights (22:00-06:00)
Week 1 - £22.41 per hour & overtime at £30.17 per hour (adv holiday pay PAYE)
Week 12 - £23.66 per hour & overtime at £31.59 per hour (adv holiday pay PAYE)
Week 27+ - £24.81 per hour & overtime at £32.73 per hour (adv holiday pay PAYE)
- Pay excluding holiday pay per hour also available.

Class 1 Driver Role Responsibilities

Store Deliveries
Completing 1-3 deliveries per shift using pallets and cages.

Fleet Flexibility
Operating Class 1 vehicles primarily, with occasional Class 2 work (always paid at Class 1 rates).

Operational Excellence
Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records.

Customer Service
Acting as a professional face of the brand when arriving at store bays.
Class 1 Driver Shift Patterns
We offer flexibility to suit your lifestyle, with shifts available 7 days a week

03:00 - 06:00 starts

Afternoon Window
13:00 - 18:00 starts

Night Window
19:00 - 02:00 starts
- Average shift length of 10-12 hours with a guaranteed minimum of 8 hours paid.
Class 1 Driver Requirements

Licence
Valid Cat C+E (Class 1) for a minimum of 6 months.

Experience
At least 6 months of active Class 1 driving.

Compliance
Valid CPC and Digi Tacho cards; maximum 6 minor points (no DR, IN, or DD).

Flexibility
Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation.
