As an FMO Appliance Maintenance Supervisor in our Defence team, you’ll lead the safe and efficient delivery of furniture and appliance services, supporting servicemen and women across the UK. Your work ensures essential items are delivered, maintained and managed reliably – helping people feel at home, wherever they’re based.

What you’ll do as an FMO Appliance Maintenance Supervisor

You’ll be entrusted to

  • Lead and supervise a team, ensuring daily tasks are delivered efficiently and safely
  • Coordinate appliance maintenance and furniture delivery schedules with MOD and stakeholders
  • Plan and manage vehicle runs, ensuring compliance with driving regulations and transport audits
  • Oversee health and safety standards, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and incident reporting
  • Manage stock, ordering of parts, consumables and maintenance supplies
  • Support team development through inductions, training, performance reviews and absence management

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have

  • Experience leading or supervising a team, including performance management and training
  • A full clean driving licence and experience with regular driving responsibilities
  • Knowledge of appliance maintenance, including white goods and basic electrical work
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with colleagues and customers
  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to adapt and solve problems

This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
