About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Painter to join our Engineering team based in Stansted. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic aviation environment, delivering high-quality finishes on aircraft while ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Your duties as an aircraft painter

Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming

Mix and apply paints and coatings to precise specifications

Use spray guns and specialised equipment to achieve high-quality finishes

Inspect completed work to ensure consistency and compliance with standards

Carry out touch-ups, repainting, and surface polishing as required

Remove old paint and corrosion safely and effectively

Re-seal panels following maintenance activities

Maintain accurate records of materials and work completed

Follow technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer guidelines

Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams, and supervisors

What we are looking for in an aircraft painter

Proven experience in aircraft painting or industrial painting (aviation preferred)

Strong knowledge of coatings, finishing processes, and paint systems

Ability to operate spray painting and surface preparation equipment

Familiarity with aviation safety standards and regulations

High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation

Physically capable of working at height and in confined spaces

Strong team player with good communication skills

Relevant certifications or vocational training in painting or aviation maintenance would be to your advantage
