Colchester Hospital has an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners to join our supportive team in Elmstead Day Unit Theatres Department. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about their profession and committed to delivering high-quality patient focused care.

At Colchester, our theatre suites comprise of 17 days case and inpatient theatres. Elmstead Theatres accommodate specialities like ENT, Urology, General surgery, plastic, Oral and gynaecological surgeries.

This exciting position offers opportunity for ongoing professional development to practice and advance your theatre knowledge and skills beyond your current boundaries of practice to become a multi-skilled Theatre practitioner. You will also have opportunities to receive in-house continued clinical skills training and interpersonal skills workshops.

  • Provide clinically effective, high quality, individualised peri-operative patient care working within the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Promote a safe and attractive working environment that encourages learning.
  • Contribute to the continuing development of peri-operative and professional practice ensuring practice is evidence based.
  • Support the integration of clinical governance into all aspects of patient care delivery.
  • Demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to achieve the learning outcomes of departmental programmes and competencies
