Teaching Assistant - SEMH

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in King's Lynn. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people within a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where wellbeing, consistency, and positive relationships are at the heart of the school's approach.
The school supports pupils with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, including anxiety, emotional dysregulation, low confidence, ADHD/ADD, social communication difficulties, challenging behaviour, and needs linked to previous trauma.

Provide 1
1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Use trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation strategies to support emotional regulation
- Help pupils build confidence, resilience, and positive social skills
- Support personalised learning programmes and structured daily routines
- Develop positive, trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues, and wider support staff
- Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
We are looking for someone who
- Has experience working with children or young people, whether in education, care, youth work, or a similar setting
- Demonstrates a calm, patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Is confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
- Holds a full UK driving licence
- Has strong communication skills and enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team
