We are recruiting for a passionate and driven Deputy Nursery Manager to join a thriving setting in Romford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a natural leader to work alongside the Nursery Manager, helping to run a successful, high-quality setting.
Whether you are an existing Deputy looking for a new challenge or a Senior stepping up, you will play a vital role in mentoring staff, overseeing the EYFS, and ensuring the best outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, deputising fully in their absence.
Staff Mentoring
Guide and support Room Leaders and Practitioners, ensuring high standards of practice and observations.
Curriculum Quality
Oversee the delivery of the EYFS curriculum across all rooms, ensuring planning is stimulating and age-appropriate.
Safeguarding
Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or support the DSL in maintaining rigorous child protection standards.
Parent Partnership
Build strong relationships with parents, handling enquiries and show-arounds with professionalism.
Requirements
Qualification
Minimum Level 3 NVQ/CACHE Diploma in Early Years (Level 4/5 or Degree desirable).
Experience
proven experience in a senior role (e.g., Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Senior Practitioner) within a nursery setting.
Leadership
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
Knowledge
Expert knowledge of Ofsted requirements, the EYFS framework, and Safeguarding.
Location
Must be based in or able to commute to Romford, Essex.
