About the Company

A long‑established, family‑run main contractor delivering design and build, new build, and refurbishment projects across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, and Cambridgeshire. The company operates across the commercial, education, industrial, and leisure sectors.

This Senior Site Manager position is available due to increased workload and continued business growth supported by a strong project pipeline.

The Role

The Senior Site Manager will oversee site operations on projects up to £15m, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality delivery. Projects are located within a 30‑mile radius of Luton, covering the M25 belt from Northampton to Watford to Cambridge.

The role requires strong programming capability, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage trades, subcontractors, and site teams to deliver projects on time, to specification, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day‑to‑day site operations across live schemes

Manage trades, subcontractors, and site staff

Ensure compliance with health and safety standards

Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety inspections

Monitor progress against programme and adjust sequencing

Maintain accurate site records and reporting

Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams

Support commercial teams with variations and contract administration

Person Specification

Experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager for a main contractor

Background delivering refurbishment and new build schemes up to £15m

Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes

Confident managing multiple trades and complex site logistics

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Strong programming and organisational capability

Experience across commercial, education, industrial, or leisure sectors

Regional experience across the M25 and Home Counties

Qualifications

NVQ Level 5 minimum in Construction Management or equivalent

CSCS appropriate grade

SMSTS

First Aid

Additional health and safety or contract‑related training advantageous
