The Role

This maternity cover role offers the chance to become a fully integrated member of a highly skilled and supportive team, delivering outstanding clinical care in a modern environment where both pets and people are genuinely valued.

You will play a key role in all aspects of nursing, from consultations and surgical support to inpatient care and preventative healthcare, while helping create a calm and welcoming experience for every patient and client.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients across all areas of the practice
• Conduct nurse consultations and preventative healthcare appointments
• Monitor general anaesthesia and maintain accurate records
• Assist veterinary surgeons with procedures and surgeries
• Administer treatments and medications
• Maintain detailed and accurate clinical notes
• Monitor stock levels and support inventory management
• Ensure clinical areas and equipment are maintained to the highest standards
• Educate clients on routine and specialised pet care

Working Pattern

• Full-time fixed-term contract
• 12 months covering maternity leave
• Start date available ASAP

• RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Experienced in general practice nursing
• Confident running nurse consults
• Competent in anaesthetic monitoring and surgical nursing
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Proactive and able to work independently when needed
• Friendly, adaptable and a strong team player
