About this role

Carer /Support Worker

Job ref. PUR-931-964

About me

A caring, patient, and understanding Female Carer is required to support a young woman with Down’s Syndrome, Autism, Epilepsy, and learning disabilities.

This is a rewarding ongoing role supporting an individual with complex needs to access activities she enjoys while encouraging independence away from the family home.

The client is mobile but requires support with most daily activities. She attends a day centre where she enjoys cooking, arts and crafts, listening to music, writing in her notebook, puzzles, games, and playing ball. She has a wonderful sense of humour, enjoys tactile interaction, and thrives with calm, engaging support.

As the client is non-verbal, she may occasionally experience meltdowns when unable to communicate her needs. The successful PA will need to remain calm, patient, and reassuring, ensuring her safety and allowing her time and space to regulate.
