Larksfield and Arlesey Medical Partnership is looking for an experienced and compassionate Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our dedicated primary care team. Main Duties of the Role Undertake a range of clinical duties including venepuncture, ECGs, NHS Health Checks, wound care, and recording patient observations in line with practice protocols and current clinical guidelines. Support clinicians during consultations, procedures, and examinations where required. Accurately label, process, and store blood samples, ensuring compliance with laboratory, infection control, and health and safety procedures. Prepare and maintain clinical rooms, equipment, and medical supplies to ensure safe and effective patient care. Provide reassurance, support, and compassionate care to patients of all ages, maintaining professionalism at all times. Maintain accurate patient records and data entry using the clinical system in line with practice policies and GDPR requirements. Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure smooth workflow and effective patient care delivery. Follow all safeguarding, confidentiality, infection prevention, and health and safety procedures. Working Hours Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am 2:00pm 25 to 30 hours per week, flexible within this range depending on practice needs Person Specification / Essential Skills Proven experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a GP practice, primary care, or clinical setting. Competency in venepuncture, ECGs, wound care, NHS Health Checks, and basic clinical observations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload efficiently. Awareness of health and safety, infection prevention and control, safeguarding, and data protection standards.
