The Royal Marsden is seeking an outstanding finance leader as Head of Financial Management to help shape the future of the management accounting and business partnering team. We are looking for an individual who can embrace and enhance the distinctive culture of this unique specialist Trust.

As The Royal Marsden faces growing demands, we need a finance professional who can lead the business partnering team to support the organisation to deliver financial sustainability and the financial strategy.

As Head of Financial Management, you will lead the Trust's business partners and deputise for the Director of Finance – Operations as required. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of the financial plan and ensuring this supports the organisation's strategic objectives. You will ensure the delivery of accurate, timely and high-quality financial information to internal and external stakeholders. You will play a central role in embedding a business-focused, high-performing financial management team that supports clinical and corporate decision-making and ensures financial rigour across all areas of the organisation.

Leadership

  • To contribute to the development of the vision and direction of the Financial Management Function so that it is able to set challenging objectives in line with the Trust’s strategic direction for the future in response to changing needs
  • To provide financial leadership, supporting key Trust strategic and operational priorities and service developments, engaging senior stakeholders and providing specialist/ in-depth financial advice and assurance to the Trust Board, Executive Team and other Senior Staff within Finance and across the Trust.
  • Contribute to the formulation, review and implementation of a financial strategy for the Trust.
  • To ensure that the service provided by the Financial Management Team meets the operational needs of the organisation, ensuring the postholder and the team builds and maintains a close working relationship with budget holders across the Trust.
  • To drive through business improvements, standardisation and automation in the production of Trust-wide processes and reporting.
