An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Senior Therapy Assistant to join Orthopaedics/EMED. The post will involve cross site working at both the Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke sites.

Candidates need a strong work ethic, a kind and caring nature and a willingness to learn and develop.You will need to be flexible and adaptable, working as a part of a supportive multidisciplinary team to assist in providing Occupational and Physiotherapy to people with a range of Orthopaedics/ Medical Conditions. conditions.

Experience of working as a therapy assistant or in a hospital/caring rehabilitation environment is essential.

Role Summary

  • To support patients with mobility and transfer practice
  • To support patients, their families and carers to maximise their participation in the attainment of their rehabilitation goals by following treatment programmes developed and provided by the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) involved
  • Assisting the therapists and wider MDT with discharge planning
  • Completing functional tasks delegated by the therapists to support the patient in returning to their previous level of function
  • Assisting on visits to patients homes to assess their discharge needs
  • To work as a supervised member of the multidisciplinary team, maintaining good communication with the AHPs, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team e.g. doctors, nurses and social workers to try to achieve the Predicted Date of Discharge (PDD).

Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust’s redeployment process.
