We are looking for an experienced and highly specialist Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our supportive neuropsychology team.
The post holder will provide specialist psychological input and clinical leadership within stroke multidisciplinary services across acute and rehabilitation pathways, delivering brief interventions and contributing to neurorehabilitation. The role also includes contributing to outpatient adult neuropsychology clinics, with a focus on diagnostic neuropsychological assessments for individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions.
Working alongside Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologists, the post holder will support service development and clinical governance within stroke psychology. Responsibilities include supervision and training of psychologists, trainees, and multidisciplinary colleagues, contribution to strategic planning across the neurosciences, and participation in audit, research, and service evaluation.
Applicants must have post-qualification experience in comprehensive neuropsychological assessment, including specialist experience with stroke populations. Senior leadership experience within multidisciplinary settings is desirable. Working towards the Qualification in Neuropsychology is advantageous but not essential.
Candidates appointed at Band 8a may be supported through a preceptorship to Band 8b. Applicants must hold a doctoral-level qualification in Clinical Psychology, be BPS accredited, and HCPC registered.
Provide expert neuropsychological assessment, formulation, and intervention for patients presenting with a wide range of neurological and neurosurgical conditions, with a particular emphasis on acute stroke care and ongoing outpatient management.
Lead and coordinate outpatient neuropsychology clinics, ensuring timely assessments, appropriate follow-up, and effective liaison with multidisciplinary teams.
Deliver brief neuropsychological interventions and provide specialist input into rehabilitation, recovery, discharge planning, and care pathway development, supporting multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes following hyper-acute and inpatient stroke care.

We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
