We are pleased to be able to offer an opportunity for an experienced, efficient and motivated individual to join our Clinical Research team. The post available is on a full-time basis within the Women’s and Children’s Research Team.

You will need to have significant experience of working in an office/administration environment, including research knowledge, data entry skills and the ability to use databases and provide data support. Additionally having excellent communication skills and a positive and flexible approach to the workload is essential. Research at NNUH is conducted primarily at the NIHR Norfolk Clinical Research Facility (CRF), located at the main hospital as well as the Quadram Institute on the Norwich Research Park. The Norfolk CRF is one of 28 NIHR- partly funded clinical research facilities networked across the UK.

We have a shared goal within our team; to undertake clinical research to improve treatment and care of patients here at NNUH and beyond.

The Clinical Data Entry and Administration Support Officer will provide administrative, organisational and data support for all clinical research projects. They will act as the first point of contact for inquiries from the clinical research delivery team, clinical staff and other colleagues within research.

Responsibilities include;

  • Data management of all clinical trials
  • Organisation and co-ordination of meetings, appointments and research related activities in the research team
  • Assist with regulatory, governance and ethical standards for clinical trials and research studies
  • Organising research resources

The role requires excellent time management, organisational and communication skills.

A sound working knowledge of research and data management is desirable and prior experience of administration is beneficial.

  • Work according to ICH GCP guidelines and research governance standards for clinical trials and current Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assists the research delivery team with the data management requirements of all clinical trials, maintaining accurate records and ensuring completeness of research data stored on file and electronically.
  • Processes, input and verify data relating to individual research studies, resolving data queries where appropriate and escalating as required.
  • Liaises with academic and clinical researchers, external organisations, research participants and other staff involved in the research project within the Trust to ensure accurate data recording and smooth research administration.
  • Organise and coordinate meetings, appointments, and research-related activities including multi-disciplinary team meetings, researcher diaries, and preparation of meeting reports.
  • Plans activities and prioritises workload to ensure timely response to data requests, research enquiries and participant communications.
  • Maintain research resources and stock, ordering supplies for research trials as required.
  • Extract and manipulate data from research systems and uses relevant software to support the production of reports on research activity, performance, and quality, including accrual figures, recruitment metrics, and other key indicators.
  • Use a range of digital research and clinical systems to input, access, validate and maintain accurate data, ensuring compliance with data protection, information governance, and Trust policies.
  • Assist with regulatory, governance, and audit requirements for clinical trials and research studies, including preparation for monitoring visits and audits.
