An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join a well-established and expanding engineering company based near Woodbridge. This role would suit a motivated individual with strong MIG welding and fabrication skills who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working within a close-knit engineering team.
The successful candidate will be involved in the manufacture and fabrication of a variety of mild steel products, working directly from engineering drawings to produce accurate and reliable components to customer specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out MIG welding to a high standard on a range of mild steel fabrications
- Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings accurately
- Fabricating and assembling components using materials including box section, flat bar, angle iron, plate, and tube
- Using workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
- Grinding, cutting, fettling, and finishing fabricated parts to meet quality standards
- Inspecting completed work to ensure accuracy and quality compliance
- Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
- Adhering to all Health & Safety procedures, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Working collaboratively as part of a small, experienced fabrication team
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in MIG welding and fabrication is essential
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings confidently
- Experience working with mild steel materials in a workshop environment
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality workmanship
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good understanding of workplace Health & Safety practices
- Own transport may be beneficial due to the company’s location
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- Flexible start and finish times available
- Early finish on Fridays
- Overtime may be available depending on workload
