An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join a well-established and expanding engineering company based near Woodbridge. This role would suit a motivated individual with strong MIG welding and fabrication skills who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working within a close-knit engineering team.

The successful candidate will be involved in the manufacture and fabrication of a variety of mild steel products, working directly from engineering drawings to produce accurate and reliable components to customer specifications. Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out MIG welding to a high standard on a range of mild steel fabrications
  • Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings accurately
  • Fabricating and assembling components using materials including box section, flat bar, angle iron, plate, and tube
  • Using workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
  • Grinding, cutting, fettling, and finishing fabricated parts to meet quality standards
  • Inspecting completed work to ensure accuracy and quality compliance
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety procedures, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Working collaboratively as part of a small, experienced fabrication team

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in MIG welding and fabrication is essential
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings confidently
  • Experience working with mild steel materials in a workshop environment
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality workmanship
  • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good understanding of workplace Health & Safety practices
  • Own transport may be beneficial due to the company’s location

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • Flexible start and finish times available
  • Early finish on Fridays
  • Overtime may be available depending on workload
