The role
To support the Head of Dementia and Lifestyles in the delivery of the Care UK dementia strategy and dementia quality approach across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
To manage a team of Specialist Dementia Leads
To deputise for the Head of Dementia and Lifestyle as required
To oversee the delivery of dementia training at Regional and National level
Ensuring that life-story work and person-led care practices are embedded in homes
All homes are actively delivering Namaste to brand standard
To promote the Relish app and newsletter
Residents experiencing periods of distress are reviewed and supported in a timely manner
Delivery of dementia specific training modules where required
Supporting in responses to dementia or lifestyle concerns or incidents
Supporting in the implementation of dementia and lifestyle specific quality improvement initiatives at Regional and National level measuring impact
A thorough understanding of evidence-based best practice in relation to dementia care and meaningful occupation
Working with colleagues to ensure that new acquisition homes are supported to introduce and embed the Care UK dementia strategy
Have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and the law in relation to people with dementia
What We're Looking For
Level 1 Registered Nurse with evidence of current NMC registration or other Level 5 social care qualification or equivalent
Leading/coaching/mentoring a team of colleagues
Access to own transport as travel will be extensive between homes and regular overnight stays
