About this role

We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Specialist Bone Reference Laboratory team in a biomedical sciences support worker role. The role will support the scientific and clinical teams in the NNUH blood sciences laboratories to deliver a highly specialised bone reference laboratory service for East Anglia. Applications are invited from Candidates with a interest in science with a minimum NVQ level 3 qualification.

The Eastern Pathology Alliance is formed from three Pathology Laboratories based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), the James Paget University Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn. This role will be based at NNUH within the analytical specialist chemistry department

To support the effective, consistent and efficient running of specialist bone assay service. To Perform a range of routine and non-routine tasks within the specialist bone assay laboratory and relevant laboratory areas. Obtain samples for biological testing, perform standard biological tests, process blood and other fluids for analysis ensuring sample integrity is maintained at all times.

This role requires the daily use of the Pathology IT systems to a very high level of accuracy and speed when inputting patient demographic and test data. Ensure that all duties within their service are carried out in accordance with the Trust and Departmental policies
