Have you recently completed a Psychology degree and looking to gain hands-on experience supporting young people?
Luma Education Recruitment are working with SEN schools, Alternative Provisions, and specialist settings looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Psychology Graduates to join their support teams.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates interested in education, mental health, child development, or behaviour support, offering valuable practical experience within supportive school environments.
No school-based experience? No problem.
Schools are looking for individuals with the right attitude, patient, resilient, empathetic, and genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
You’ll gain valuable experience supporting pupils with
ASD (Autism)
ADHD
SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
Behavioural needs
Moderate learning difficulties
Anxiety and emotional regulation needs
What the role could involve
Supporting pupils on a 1
1 basis and in small groups
Assisting students with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Building positive relationships with pupils who require additional support
Helping teachers create engaging and inclusive learning environments
Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
Encouraging confidence, independence, and classroom engagement
Assisting throughout the school day with lessons and activities

Requirements
Psychology degree or graduates nearing completion
Passion for child development, SEN, and mental health support
Calm, proactive, and supportive approach
Flexible and adaptable to different school environments
Patient, resilient, and confident supporting behavioural needs
Previous experience working with children or young people desirable
Enhanced DBS (on Update Service) required prior to starting
