About the Role
Client is looking for a passionate, organised, and experienced Nursery Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of their growing nursery setting in Ware.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing nursery that currently has a team of 6 staff members, with plans for continued growth and expansion. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in supporting the nursery’s development while ensuring high standards of childcare, safeguarding, and Early Years education are maintained at all times.
The nursery already has an established branch in London, and the successful Nursery Manager will receive full support and training from both the Director and General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day running and operations of the nursery
Lead, support, and manage nursery staff effectively
Ensure the nursery remains compliant with EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements
Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children
Support children’s learning and development through the EYFS framework
Build strong and professional relationships with parents and carers
Use the Family App to communicate and provide daily updates to parents
Monitor staff ratios, routines, and nursery standards
Support recruitment, staff development, and team growth as the nursery expands
Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare standards are consistently maintained
Maintain accurate nursery records and compliance documentation
Lead by example with professionalism, communication, and leadership
Requirements
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years (Level 5 preferred)
Previous experience within a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, or Senior Room Leader role
Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures
Experience leading or supporting nursery teams
Confident communication and organisational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced childcare environment
Comfortable using nursery systems and technology such as Famly App
Passionate about delivering high-quality childcare and Early Years education
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
