About us
The acute dialysis unit is an inpatient dialysis unit providing dialysis and plasma exchange to both chronic (CKD) and acute (AKI) in patients as well as those outpatients who need urgent HD in the main Lister site.
We are situated in ward 6BS. The unit consists of 1 sideroom, 3 open bays and 1 emergency bay. We operate Monday – Saturday and are closed on Sundays. Staff are required to work long days either early or late. The unit currently opens from 07.30 – 21.30.
The STRATHMORE RENAL UNIT is a newly opened outpatient dialysis unit providing dialysis to chronic (CKD) renal patients.
We are situated next to Strathmore Building in the Lister Hospital Main Site. The unit consists of 5 side rooms and 13 open bays. We operate from Monday – Saturday and are closed on Sundays. Staff members are required to work long days (13hours)Early (0600-1900), Long day (0700-2000) or Twilight (1000-2300). The unit currently opens from 0600am– 2300

Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Prepare each individuals environment, equipment and materials appropriately for the procedure prior to starting the procedure.
- Be responsible for the accurate recording of clinical observations and data relating to patients care
- To identify clinical changes in patients and seek timely advice from senior colleagues whenever necessary
- Involve patients and carers /relatives in shared decision making
- Move patients, machinery and goods in accordance with Trust policies and procedures

Main duties of the job
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a virtual information and guidance session. We look forward to engaging with as many candidates as possible. The session will provide comprehensive details regarding the role, offer interview advice, outline the assessment day, and explain the overall recruitment process.
The assessment and interview date is Friday 19th June 2026. The assessment day is in person only. You will be required to undertake a role specific assessment and if successful will follow up with an interview on the day or a follow up date.
