Job Summary

BARR Personnel is currently recruiting 5 Class 2 Tipper Driver's for our client's in Ipswich. The role will be delivering to various building sites locally. Start times are from 6.30am till 4pm Monday to Friday. Successful applicants must be able to provide checkable work related references/history. All applicants must hold a valid Class 2 licence (CAT C), CPC Card and Digital Tachograph card.

Minimum standards required are the following;

hgv class 2 licence (CAT C) (held for at least 2 years for insurance purposes)

drivers CPC card

digital tachograph card

no DR, DD, DG or IN Conviction codes on driving licence

good communication skill with other colleagues on site

safety boots and hi-viz

delivery experience is essential

Responsibilities

Operate various types of vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries, for the safe delivery of goods.

Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.

Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secured properly for transport.

Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.

Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.

Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies while driving.

Assist with basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues as needed.

Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle.

Skills

Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role within the logistics or warehouse industry.

Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and best practices.

Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively.

Ability to drive various types of vehicles, including vans and flatbeds.

Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting vehicle issues.

Strong organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently.

A valid driving licence appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
