Class 1 Driver

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver on behalf of our client based in Bedford, a well-established and highly respected business within the recycling and materials sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Class 1 drivers seeking ongoing, long-term work with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful trial period. The successful candidate will be responsible for nationwide deliveries and collections, ensuring all loads are transported safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of professionalism and compliance.

Details

• Monday to Friday various between 05.00am - 10.00am start
• Temporary to Permanent opportunity following successful trial period

Class 1 Driver

Bedford - Rates of pay

• Basic pay rate - 17.15 per hour
• £21.44 for any hours worked after 45 hours per week
• £25.73 Bank Holidays
• £25 night out allowance per day

Class 1

Driver Bedford - Job description

• General driving duties, observing current legal and best practice delivering and collection to/from the customer's premises or other locations
• Delivering products on behalf of the customer
• Use of electronic POD and up to date technology (full training provided if required)
• Assisting with loading and unloading if required
• Good communication and customer service
• Tramping for 4 nights in the week

Requirements of the LGV/HGV Class 1 Driver

• A full UK C/C+E licence (essential)
• No more than 6 points on your licence
• No previous disqualifications (DD,TT,DR,CD,IN)
• Good knowledge of driver hours and WTD regulations
