Extended Services Play Leader

About this role

What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent
  • Qualified Paediatric First Aider or willingness to undertake training.
  • Holds Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake training.
  • Experience of working with children and young people (either paid or unpaid).
  • Knowledge of the purpose and role of play in supporting children’s growth and well-being
  • Understands the theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children.
  • Understands the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety and Child Protection/Safeguarding.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate children in play.
  • Apply a relational approach to promoting positive behaviour so that children develop, learn, adapt and thrive.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to apply given instructions.
  • Ability to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to understand written information (for some roles this will involve a written test).
