About the Role
Brighthire Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join a friendly care home team in Norwich.
As Head Chef, you will play a key role in providing nutritious, well-balanced, and high-quality meals for residents while creating a positive dining experience. You will oversee all kitchen operations including menu planning, food preparation, stock control, and kitchen management, ensuring all meals meet dietary and nutritional requirements.
You will also be responsible for leading and supporting kitchen staff, maintaining high cleanliness standards, and ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals for residents
- Plan menus that cater to dietary requirements and preferences
- Manage kitchen staff and oversee day-to-day kitchen operations
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, COSHH, and health & safety standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Work closely with the Home Manager and care team
- Train and supervise kitchen staff where required
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef
- Experience working within a care home or healthcare setting desirable
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements, and food safety
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of health & safety and kitchen compliance procedures
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Catering or equivalent qualification desirable
- Food Hygiene Certificate
- Relevant catering qualifications and experience
