About this role
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Housekeeper within the Division of Emergency Care and Medicine- Tilney Ward. You must be caring, compassionate, forward thinking, well-organised and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.
The Housekeeper will work in a distinct role to support the delivery of clinical care by assisting in the maintenance of a clean, safe and attractive environment, conducive to patient care. Co-ordinating a range of ward services, including cleaning, catering, supplies, linen services, and general maintenance issues reporting and rectification, the post holder will work closely with the ward staff and support service departments to ensure that national and local standards are met.
The housekeeper will communicate with patients & visitors, providing essential information relating to the general facilities and ad hoc services available within the unit and hospital environment.
- To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards, conducting regular cleaning quality audits of allocated areas in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness Framework.
- To carry out cleaning to ensure spillages are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
- To ensure specialist cleaning of surfaces and furnishings.
- To ensure that staff have adequate materials and that they are of correct type for the job, complying with cleaning schedules, ensuring all cleaning materials and protective clothing provided are used in the correct manner.
- To ensure that all alcohol gel dispensers, paper towels and soap for hand hygiene are replenished, thus contributing to the prevention of cross infection.
