Special Needs Teaching Assistant (KS3 & KS4)
Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 3:10pm
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school community, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (ages 11-16). This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting students with additional learning needs and a passion for helping young people thrive both academically and personally.
This role is ideal for an individual who is confident supporting students of mixed abilities and is committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting students with a range of additional learning needs, helping to promote confidence, engagement, and positive outcomes across the school day.
Key responsibilities include

Supporting students on a 1
1 basis and in small groups to enhance learning and classroom engagement
- Assisting students with additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and Dyslexia
- Working closely with teachers to support lesson delivery and differentiated learning approaches
- Helping to foster a positive and inclusive school culture where every student feels supported and valued
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and active participation in learning
The ideal candidate will have
- Experience supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly ASD, ADHD, or Dyslexia
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
