Our client, a leading provider of educational services in the Great Yarmouth area, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEND, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs
  • Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans, collaborating with teachers and therapists to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum
  • Facilitate activities and lessons that promote the social, emotional, and academic development of SEND students
  • Monitor and record the progress of SEND students, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that empowers SEND students to thrive
  • Attend relevant training and professional development sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills
  • Contribute to the overall well-being and care of SEND students, addressing their physical, emotional, and behavioural needs

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant qualification in education, such as a Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEND students in a school or educational setting
  • Strong understanding of SEND practices, including the ability to adapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal growth of SEND students
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development opportunities

Desirable Skills and Attributes

  • Additional qualifications or training in specific SEND areas (e.g. , autism, dyslexia, or behavioural management)
  • Experience using assistive technologies and adaptive equipment to support SEND students
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Creativity and a natural flair for engaging SEND students in learning activities
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
